Kevin's 31st Birthday!

Kevin had to help prepare for VBS, so he was gone most of the day. While he was serving we were busy getting ready. First we bought him a turtle. He named it Samson.

Then we made him birthday signs to hang all over the house.








Then we made a cake and when he came home we put candles on and sang to him.

They bought cake for him at church. He had a ton left over, so Kristy gave him the idea to have a cake fight.

We had a lot of fun celebrating the day of Kev's birth. Lord willing we will get to do this for MANY years to come!

Cicada Season

We went on a walk to the park the other night and came home with several cicadas. My kids were excited.

We were so worn out on the 4th that we opted to do fireworks on the 5th. We had a lot of fun and the kids want to do it again soon. They are available year round here...you can find them in almost any store.

Boys + Flashlights = Never Ending Fun

Busy with flashlights. Then I was reminded of how each of my brothers would get a flashlight every year either for the birthday or Christmas or sometimes, if they were lucky, both.

We have fireworks planned for tonight, the ones that you can do at home. However, we will be doing them at the beach since I don't think our neighbors would appreciate trash in their yards.
